Julian Johns hopes to see more people take control of their financial future by taking up the opportunity to study the Money Management programme on offer in Taupō through Te Wānanga o Aotearoa (TWoA).
Tauira (students) who complete the programme will not only gain a New Zealand Certificate in Personal Financial Capability but they will get the chance to learn a new life skill that can help better the future for both themselves and their whānau.
“My hope is that this programme will allow people to create their own success, be more engaged in their communities, gain more financial confidence and see the value in themselves,” says Julian who has been a business kaikao (teacher) with TWoA since 2019.
Julian has been delivering adult education programmes in a range of settings for over 15 years but has a particular appreciation for the programmes on offer through TWoA.
“The fantastic thing about the Wānanga business programmes is that they are very well resourced. Students will benefit from these resources not only during the programme but afterwards as well.”
Julian hopes to see a range of tauira enrol in the programme so they can learn the practical skills needed when it comes to creating a healthy financial future for themselves, their whānau and the generations to come.
Not only will tauira be supported throughout their learning journey by Julian, but he is sure that they will find encouragement and connection from other tauira in the class too.
“Adult education is about more than just the workbooks, it’s about making connections and discovering what you are truly good at. This programme is about manaakitanga (support) and enjoying that work that you put in along the way.”
